I went on a trip to Goa with my friends last week. The city is blessed with so many beautiful beaches and churches. Even if you are not travelling in a group, you can have fun lounging at the beach and interacting with the feisty locals.
We spend the first day, checking out the beaches. Palolem is undoubtedly one of Goa’s best beaches. This crescent-shaped beach, offers a breathtaking view of the surrounding landscape. You can take a boat trip, try your hand at fishing or shop at the beach market selling souvenirs, clothes, and jewelry.
Known for its flea markets and vibrant trance parties, the Anjuna beach is also worth a visit. The flea market is put up every Wednesday, and sells a huge collection of goods such as clothes, jewelry and electronic devices.
We also visited some of the popular churches in Goa. Famous for its stunning architecture, the church Basilica of Bom Jesus houses the preserved body of St. Francis Xavier, one of the patron Saints of Goa. The Church of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception, the Church of St. Francis of Assisi, and the Church of S. Caetano are some of the other must-visit churches in Goa.
We stayed at the Vivanta by Taj located at Sinquerim beach. This luxury resort resembles a 16th century Portuguese Fortress and offers impressive nice views of the surrounding sea and landscape. You can do rappelling, rock climbing or deep sea fishing with the help of the resort’s dedicated activities team.
Goa also has several hotels such as Anjuna Beach Resort, Ginger Hotel, and Calangute Grande Hotel that offer budget accommodation and I recommend booking them on http://www.wego.co.in/hotels.
